Where have all the kids gone from our suburban parks and streets?
It wasn’t that long ago when
groups of kids walking together, riding their bikes, or mucking around at the
local park or vacant block were as regular a sight as seagulls at the beach.
But increasingly childhood is being experienced inside.
Why is that? Are our parental fears part of what keep us from allowing our kids to roam in the way our parents let us?
