Booragoon Lake once part of an Aboriginal transport route passing through many of the freshwater lakes south of the Swan River. The area supports a variety of flora and fauna including two species of frogs, long-necked tortoises and more than forty species of birds, the Sacred Ibis being abundant. Walkers can walk around the lake and a wooden walkway leading to an observation gazebo overlooking the lake provides a good vantage point to view the wildlife.
