Wharncliffe Mill is a family-run bush camp, nestled amidst the tall timber of the Bramley National Park in the heart of Margaret River. They offer shady well-spaced powered campsites and caravan sites amongst the trees, spacious cabins, a large four room eco-lodge, dorm rooms and basic safari tents. They are not a traditional caravan park, though they offer all of the necessary comforts of hot showers, flushing toilets and a camp kitchen. Their lodge and cabins have their own bathrooms and kitchens and they also have a huge undercover area with BBQ’s, picnic tables, table tennis and an adjacent campfire pit for relaxing and gatherings.
Surrounded by myriad walking trails and sensational mountain bike trails, just two kilometres from the Margaret River town centre, they offer a beautiful nature based eco-experience with a range of attractions and activities on our doorstep. They generate their own power, harvest rain water off the old mill and have state of the art waste water treatment facilities to ensure they minimise their impact and educate their guests about the natural environment, whilst demonstrating best practice sustainable living.
Bring a group of friends, throw in bikes for the kids and enjoy natures wonderful playground. They have a range of nature-play activities for kids to participate in, and an opportunity for adults and children to experience free-range recreation!
Located in walking distance to the main street of Margaret River, there is a range of eco-accommodation and tour options to suit every budget.

For those who want to camp but don’t have their own gear, or want to experience their first time camping experience amidst nature, Wharncliffe Mill's new safari tents offer the perfect low cost solution… and it saves the hassle of erecting your own tent.
Situated on the edge of the forest, the tents overlook the mature Jarrah and Marri trees of the surrounding National Park. Soak up the sights, sounds and smells of the Australian bush, relax by the nearby communal campfires or relax on your full sized bed with a good book. Each safari tent has one double and two single beds (a set of bunks). There is a table and chairs out the front, and guests staying in the safari tents can cook up a feast in the communal camp kitchen or for the real outdoor experience cook up on the campfire (in winter) or BBQ in summer. The nearby communal ablution facilities offer hot and cold showers as well as flushing toilets – it is almost glamping – though without the cost!
To reduce excessive laundering, they encourage their guests to bring their linen from home, though if this is not possible you can hire it through their linen hire service for a small additional charge.
Caravan and Camping Sites
Wharncliffe Mill has 43 powered bush camping sites suitable for small caravans, camper vans, camper trailers or tents. Spread out on the large sites, most of which have a direct outlook to the surrounding bush.
Communal fire rings and seating areas allow for relaxed gatherings (subject to fire restrictions/bans in summer) and a huge undercover area in the old mill ensures you will have somewhere dry to spend your time – regardless of the weather! Wood is sold at the office for $10 per small crate or you can bring your own.
