My day on Rottnest Island

By Jasmyn Hollamby aged 10

When we got off the boat, the fun had just started.  I was so excited about this day and there were so much great things to do.  I didn’t know what I wanted to do first.  Mum and Dad decided that we would do the 10km bike ride to the light house to wear us out and then do the less challenging missions after.  It was pretty hard but it was definitely worth it, we rode so fast we even beat the people who were going to take us up to the top of the lighthouse.  Mum and Dad’s plan had worked but they were the ones who looked tired.

Our second thing we did was the quokka walk and we got 30 cm away from a cute quokka.  We had such a fabulous time walking and riding around the Island.  We got onto the train and we saw a plane landing at the airport.  When we got back from our awesome tour we went for a swim in the rough wavey ocean – it was so cool.

After our fun time in the water we went to return our bikes to the boat before we went back to Fremantle.  There was still some time so we went to get an ice cream.  There were so many flavours but I chose chocolate and banana choc chip.  When everyone chose their flavour sadly it was time to say goodbye to Rottnest.  We had the best time ever.
