One step after the other, surrounded by nature, a bird’s call as your soundtrack. Bushwalking will not only get you physically fit but it could just be the antidote city dwellers need to a stressful life.

The combination of physical activity and being exposed to nature is the golden ticket for health and it couldn’t be truer for children, Nature Play WA chief executive Griffin Longley says.

“It is a really powerful thing for a kid to have the physical experience of walking, combined with the emotional experience of being with an adult who they care about, then you add on the layer of the mental experience of learning something and you have a really powerful moment that can stay with kids for their entire lives,” he says.
