Curtin Explorer

More than 1,000 people attended Curtin University to experience creativity and imaginative play with a special Nature Play WA twist!

Held in the Creative Quarter at Curtin University, the Curtin Explorer event was hidden amongst beautiful pine trees and shrubbery. It was a lovely 26-degree day with rain scheduled for the afternoon. There were plenty of happy faces who were enjoying the break from the heatwave. We even had a splash of rain toward the end of the event – we think the Eco Faeries may have done a rain dance for us!

Music played throughout Creative Quarter, creating a really wonderful atmosphere for young and old. With music from family favourites like Frozen and the Lion King, there was a lot of singing and dancing all morning! The music was a great addition and was perfectly paired with the giggles and awe of children completely enthralled by the huge bubbles floating through the air and throughout the event space.

Faces were painted, and bubbles were blown and there was plenty of creativity being explored. With rock decorating, nature wands, nature crowns, nature mandalas and an interactive scavenger hunt there was fun for the whole family! We were also very lucky to be joined by our friends from the Eco Faeries and Freedom Fairies.

With nature play for all ages, music, plenty of food and lots of laughter, the Curtin Explorer event has become one of our favourite events of the year!

We would like to extend a huge thanks to Curtin University and the Explore Curtin team for warmly welcoming us back to campus for our third year. We love visiting the beautiful gardens and turning the campus into a hub of all thing’s nature play!
