Easy Day Hikes for Kids

Half a day is all you need for a fun outing in the bush... but where to go?

Of course, West Austalians are very lucky to have the amazing, scenic Bibbulmun Track right on our doorstop.  This is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails and offers heaps of fantastic family-friendly hiking options over its 1000km length.  Check out the tips and trail suggestions from the Bibbulmun Track Foundation.

In deciding on the suitability of a hiking trail, you may want to refer to the Australian Walking Track Grading System. This can be summarised as:

Grade 1: suitable for the disabled with assistance
Grade 2: suitable for families with young children
Grade 3: recommended for people with some bushwalking experience
Grade 4: recommended for experienced bushwalkers
Grade 5: recommended for very experienced bushwalkers
