Speaking Engagements

Our CEO, Dr Kelsie Prabawa-Sear, is available for speaking engagements, including key note speaker, conference presenter and for nature-play related events.

Kelsie has had the joy of a varied and rich working and academic experience in both Australia and Indonesia prior to joining Nature Play WA, having worked in State government, consulting roles and conservation work with not-for-profit organisations. Along the way she has entwined her work with post graduate research degrees, completed a Master’s in Environmental Education for Sustainability and a PhD on The Impact of Culture in Environmental Education in Java, Indonesia. When reflecting on this work, Kelsie's focus and passion has always been for nature, kids, and communities. It’s therefore no surprise that she was drawn to the work of Nature Play WA.

As a parent of three wonderful growing humans, Kelsie also understand the challenges of parenthood and the important role that we have as advocates for our kids’ childhoods. She personally adds “advocate for nature” to her list of responsibilities, as it is her view that we all have a responsibility to ensure that our kids not only get time in nature as little ones, but also get a future with nature. The health of the environment cannot be separated from our own health.

Nature Play is a not-for-profit organisation with a growing international reputation for innovative programs that increase awareness of the benefits of unstructured play outdoors and has spread to South Australia, Queensland and the ACT.

Kelsie is available for a select number of speaking engagements, and is in high demand for her engaging expert thoughts on the importance of child-led play in the outdoors (nature play), and the way it supports every aspect of children’s development including their physical and mental health, social and emotional development, the building of resilience and creativity, and their connection to nature.
