Rishelle Hume
Noongar Leader, Cultural Strategist, National Award-Winning Advocate
Dr Rishelle Hume AM is a proud Noongar woman with ancestral ties to the Whadjuk, Ballardong, and Gnaala Karla Boodja peoples of the Noongar Nation in southwest Western Australia.
With over 30 plus years of experience in Aboriginal affairs, Dr Hume has held numerous senior leadership roles across government, corporate, and community sectors. Her career has been defined by a deep commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation — consistently championing cultural integrity, driving systemic change, and forging meaningful partnerships that empower Aboriginal voices and communities.
"Nature Play WA is especially important to me because, through an Aboriginal perspective, connection to Country is at the heart of our wellbeing, identity, and learning. Supporting children to explore, play, and grow in nature helps strengthen that connection and ensures our cultural values continue to be lived and shared. I’m genuinely excited to join the Board and contribute to this important work."
