Dyoondalup Point Walter Reserve, Bicton

Honour Ave, Bicton WA 6157

Nestled on the Debarl Yerrigan (Swan River) in Bicton is Dyoondalup (Point Walter Reserve), meaning โ€œplace of long flowing white hairโ€ or โ€œplace of white sandโ€ in Whadjuk Noongar language. It was named for the vast sandbar the Dreamtime figure Djunda is said to have left behind, and was traditionally a gathering place for women and children. With two small playgrounds, a sprawling foreshore, bushland, sandbar shallows, and Jenalup (Blackwall Reach) cliffs and caves close by, itโ€™s a place where families can spend the day wandering, wading and exploring at their own pace.
