Lake Goollelal sits within Yellagonga Regional Park on Whadjuk Noongar country. The regional park is named for Yellagonga who was a leader of the local Mooro people. The name Goollelal means ‘listen’. The accessible boardwalk winds out over the water and is fringed by paperbarks and flooded gums. It gives visitors an accessible way to wander into the wetland and discover the birdlife, bushland and quiet corners for unstructured play and exploration.
