Nature Nook – Pop Up Calm Space
Nature Play WA’s Nature Nook is a calm, inclusive pop-up play space designed to support children (and their adults) who may become overwhelmed in busy or highly stimulating environments, perfect for your next community event!
Within the Nature Nook, families will find a series of sensory nature activities inspired by nature that reflect themes of curiosity, creativity, and connection to the natural world.
These resources encourage exploration, imagination and sensory engagement, with clear visual instruction sheets encouraging self-directed play, either solo or with family support.
The calm and connected focus of a Nature Nook helps to create more inclusive event experiences, enabling greater participation by those who may otherwise struggle to remain at, or enjoy, public gatherings.
Storytime Cubbies – Nature-Based Literacy
Storytime Cubbies is a nature-based literacy session for families perfect for hosting by local libraries, community centres, and early childhood services.
Unlike traditional indoor storytime sessions, Storytime Cubbies takes literacy out into nature, where children can explore stories through outdoor play and hands-on cubby building.
Led by a Nature Play early years educator, the session commences with a group story time featuring a fun, nature-themed picture book which forms the basis for the session’s fun, hands-on activities.
As part of the session, families are provided with a variety of materials and support to actively join in collaborative cubby building, providing children with an awesome space to play and enjoy more stories, and maybe some morning tea too!
Mud Kitchen Magic – Pop Up Play Space
Host your very own Mud Kitchen Bake-Off with our Mud Kitchen Magic pop-up play space! Perfect for Local Government festival and fairs, community events and school open days, Nature Play WA will host messy fun for kids at your next event.
Mud play is a wonderful sensory play activity for children of all ages and our Mud Play Magic Pop Up brings all of the messy, muddy, sensory fun to your outdoor space – we supply the mud, the mud kitchens, the pots and pans, and the staff…and then we’ll clear it away too!
Senses Alive! Outdoor Play Session
Senses Alive is an outdoor sensory play session for children with activities designed to engage all of the senses in nature.
Being outdoors in nature is the perfect environment for encouraging sensory awareness and Nature Play WA are excited to bring ALL of the sensory fun directly to your outdoor space. The program is available to local libraries, community centres, early childhood centres and other local government programs.
Nature Play WA will work with your organisation to tailor the session to suit your community and location but as a general guide, each Senses Alive session includes movement activities, sensory guessing games and invitations to play, a guided nature walk and sensory treasure hunt, and an engaging storytime featuring a fun nature-based picture book.
