Canning River Regional Park – home to Kent Street Weir – is a calm, nature-rich escape where families can stroll along shaded riverside paths, picnic under tall trees, paddle in the river and spot birdlife along the wetlands. With gentle walking loops, peaceful water views, open grassy spaces and plenty of places to explore, it’s a beautiful setting for slow adventure and relaxed time outdoors together.

Riverside canoe/kayak launch points for calm, family-friendly paddling.

Wetland boardwalks that bring kids up close to birdlife, reeds and river ecology and beautiful, accessible walking loops that allow the whole family – prams, wheels and all – to enjoy the scenery together.

Canning River Eco Education Centre (lovingly known as CREEC), where you can learn more about the important biodiversity in the Canning River Regional Park. CREEC is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
