The screen-time dilemma is one of the great challenges of modern parenting, for educators and the health community alike. There is no doubt that the use of screens is accelerating and it is occupying a disproportionate amount of children’s time. It is really important that we understand technology and screen based technology from a perspective of balance. It is part of the modern reality that children are living in and we can’t expect them to say NO to screens. Our challenge is to find ways to balance that screen time with equal or greater amounts of play, physical, connected play.
